In May, Brandon and I were invited to participate in an "art show" on the 4th of July in Ojai. Initially we the setup time was at 8am but then it changed to 6am because the roads close for the parade. Mind you Ojai is about an hour away from where we live. Ok. No problem! We'll be there.
Long story short-ish there was a total miscommunication and we were the only artists there... No customers to be seen, because everyone was at the parade. Also we couldn't leave because the roads were closed. HAH!
Even though we had no activity (not a single browser) it was great experience to set everything up. I love spending time with my man. We make the best of the strangest situations.
We hung out in the back of our car staring at our work. We were just laughing because it was absurd and just the twilight zone. I took a nap in the car and got a little overheated hahaa. We just kept asking ourselves: "Is this real? Like, is this happening? No one is here...hahaahah!"This is the main street an hour before the parade started. We stayed until the road opened at 1pm; packed everything up and came home.
I can't say that I wasn't a little disappointed but overall I'm really glad that we did it. Now all my pieces are fully cataloged and priced. It also gave me more of an oomph to set up at other Art Walks.
It's fun to get out of your comfort zone and now we have a funny story to tell...
P.S. ICAD post coming soon! Also if you're on Snapchat my username is kenz.ie23 I post random stuff all day.
