Here's a little photo post of all the more recent painting experiments that I've never posted here. Most of these have found their way to my Instagram, if you don't follow me there you might not have seen them.In this piece I was testing out my new Gelatos. While they are an interesting medium they have their pros and cons. After doing a few runs, I found that they are better suited on slick surfaces. On paper they don't blend as well as I had hoped. On top of a slick acrylic coat, they blend like a dream. I'll most likely only use them in my art journal.
Here I was able to get a more saturated effect from the Gelatos but I had to really lay them down. I really like how this composition turned out either way.I loved the color palette of the previous piece so I moved to acrylic on board for this one. It has a different feel. A bit sharper, perhaps.
These two were SO MUCH FUN! I can not tell you how much I love the Gelli Plate.
As you can see I've been loving the reds lately. I wanted to take a stab at a completely non-representational piece. It's relaxing but I have a hard time knowing when to stop. It's more about using my intuition than anything else. A muscle that could use a little toning up.
I'm trying things here and there to find what feels right. Sometimes change feels best. Sometimes change feels hard. Art is always the answer even if I don't know the question.
Happy arting! xx
