I'm finally caught up with Journal 52 just in time for the new prompt! As I showed you on Monday, week 16's prompt is 'Recycled Art.' I did end up sewing in the woven page that I made. The square pattern of thread is visible on the right and goes through to the next page. I had a few leftover bird cut-outs that I pasted in. I stamped the date and called it a day. It's quite the mish-mash, but I love the layers and textures. Week 17 is 'Refresh.' I wanted it super bright and cheerful. With the sewing from the previous page and some extra fortification on this spread there is a lot of fun texture. **My whole journal spine ripped so I had to reinforce this spread in particular with tape and Mod Podge. Also, to make sure the tape and thread don't budge I Mod Podge-d a layer of tissue paper then applied gesso.** I added some line detail with Forrest Green StazOn ink and a homemade stamp. I painted circles and used India Ink for the black dots.I liked the contrast of the black so I circled each of them! (Looking at it now I realize that I missed one!) I added the "life is great" and "stay cool" stamps to keep me happy during this heat wave we're having. It was over 100 degrees today, so staying cool is very important.
Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
