Last week I started this with no expectations. I started it the way many of my paintings begin. Red. I really love 'toning' my canvas with red because it adds life to my pieces. Blood in the veins so to speak. It's an 8inx8in and a really fun size to work on. I'm at a stopping point now. I need to let it rest before I make any changes. If I make any changes. I used all acrylic paint and in between many of the layers I added a coat of clear gloss. It helps to separate the layers and makes them less muddy. I really like how the colors vibrate against each other. I have absolutely been loving working with strictly acrylic paint. It's been awhile and it's so fun to not have to wait a week in between layers like with oil paint. Happy arting!
PS I took photos to make a book binding tutorial. But I ended up with over a hundred photos... I have a new-found respect for people who make tutorials. There is a lot of editing to be done. But I am working on it. :)
