Last night when I was lying in bed not falling asleep, I found this amazing free journal workshop called Journal52.com. It's a year long and you make 1 journal page per week. They provide the prompts to get you going. I wanted to start it but I didn't have a blank journal ready to go. It was the perfect opportunity to make my own, and then I could have the right amount of pages. I used mixed media paper from a pad I have. I wanted to make it close to the size of the ICAD's I've been working on. I cut the 9x12in pages in half and then folded those. I had ten signatures of 3 pages, so I'll end up with 60 spreads. I would do a how-to post about this but there was a bit of guessing involved. I might make one in the future after I've had practice making more books. Let me know if you'd be interested. Week 1 is "up up and away." As you can see, I went with clouds. This is all acrylic paint and micron pen.
One of the great things about this binding is that it lays flat. I'm going to wait to put the cover until I finish it. If I did it now, it would be a mess in the end. Here is the scanned finished page.
And please check out Journal52 it's so fun!
P.S. I'm still doing the ICADs I'm just waiting a couple of days in between to post them. :)
