I have been loving art journaling, and I decided it would make sense to have more than one journal. It's great to be able to work on one while the the other dries. I made the first from a Shakespeare book so when I found this old children's book I knew it was perfect. I wanted to cover it quick so I just grabbed a print I had made with excess paint from this. I'll add more to it later.
I went through the book removing about half the pages (I kept them for later use) and then I taped each crease for durability. It also helps with seepage from other spreads. I learned this from Donna Downey!
Here I added some yarn and coated it with clear gesso. I'm using this smaller journal as a way to experiment with texture and different techniques. Then eventually I'll go back and put some substance in it.
Last Tuesday I went back into this spread with my new paint pens and some white gesso. I added a date stamp as well. I think I'm finished with it now.
